The Other Side of Fear

Show of hands how many of you are scared of thrill rides or your bucket list is lacking the conventional skydiving or bungee-jumping check box. For those of you who answered in the affirmative, any particular reason for that? Are you considering all the things that could go wrong, or are you scared of the activities themselves?

It was my 21st birthday and my mother got my close friend and my day passes to an all-inclusive hotel. I don’t go on outings and excursions frequently, especially resorts and so on so I was pretty excited about it. We made our way to the location and realized how much of a treat we were in for.

Trial By Fire

This morning, I woke up before the sun.

This was completely without an alarm. The real question should probably be “why?” or  whether I went to bed any at all, because waking before the sun isn’t that odd for me these days. My body clock is warped by my standards but would be applaudible by my parents’ or grandparents’ standards.

Anyway, I didn’t wake that early for any particular reason. I just opened my eyes, had a flash of thought and sleep just slipped right out of my grasp before I even realized it. Continue reading “Trial By Fire”
